Aurora voters will be asked for a modest
increase in the operating rate limit for
the next four years. Specifically,
the Board has placed on the April 17 ballot
a request that the extension rate limitation
be increased .50% to 3.52739% and held constant
for the ’07, ’08, ’09 and ’10

The last time our School District
voters approved an operating rate increase was
19 years ago.Since 1988,
student enrollment has grown by more than 5,000.
An entire generation of students has started in
kindergarten and graduated from West High since
1988! In 1995 and 2001, voters rejected an
operating rate hike request while voters in surrounding
school districts have approved operating rate increases,
in some cases several times, in subsequent years.
