WAVE (West Aurora Volunteers for Education) is a citizen’s committee that was formed after the school board announced on January 8, 2007, that our school district would pursue an operating rate increase.  Citizens from our community have joined WAVE (and continue to join!) in the belief that District 129 must empower all students to succeed in a rapidly changing world, improve building security, institute a preventative maintenance program, balance its’ budget and eliminate short-term borrowing, and continue to work with our community with open dialogue.  

West Aurora residents have always had pride in their community and the quality of education has always been excellent.  Education, the cornerstone of our community, is in jeopardy.  We must give our teachers the time, tools and training they need to continually challenge our students, and we must protect our programs and operate our schools appropriately.  Won't you consider joining us?  Please link to the "Join Us" page to see the different ways we need your support!
